The summer movie season kicks off with a bang. Marvel's comic adaptation "Iron Man" took in more than $100 million dollars during its opening weekend. This is the 2nd best debut for a non-sequel film. It's the 10th best opening of any movie. The movie stars Robert Downey, Jr. as a superhero in a metal suit. It's the 1st release for Marvel Studios, who began financing its own productions after box office hits "Spiderman" and "Fantastic Four."
Romantic comedy "Made of Honor" starring Patrick Dempsey came in 2nd with $15.5 million dollars. "Baby Mama" came in 3rd with $10.5 million dollars.
